This podcast includes: Brad Layland and Pat Rhoades discuss the top three things you need to do weekly to fund your area.
1) Have a prayer strategy: Prayer is a fundraising strategy. We show up for God's deal. The Lord does the work. Pray for the right team to help you with funding. Ex.: We just listed the names of people we wanted to have on our team and with no connection to them, we just prayed for them and then asked them. From that came eight or nine people who are our TDS team.
The three things are:
1) Have a prayer strategy
2) Have a Taking Donosr Seriously (TDS) Team
3) Have a Financial Master Plan (FMP)
It's simple: Pray - team - plan.
List the top 20 percent of people who are on your team of supporters, the people who care about you and pray for them. Then ask them if they will join you in building a team to own the funding in the area - a TDS team. Your TDS team needs to come from there.
If nobody will be on your TDS team then find a prayer coordinator and ask them to pray for a TDS team. If you don't know where to start find a prayer coordinator and ask them to pray for a TDS team.
You need an FMP. It's a calendar of five things you want to do over the year. Schedule in all your events, thank yous, communications, when you're going to ask your top tier donors for money and who is going to do the asking.
Get the TDS manual. All the steps are in it. Win a free hard copy of the TDS manual by being one of the first 10 people who email: firstname.lastname@example.org and say, "I want a free TDS manual."
You can also download the manual for free or order hard copies for $8 each.
For more information about TDS teams, monthly strategies and all things fundraising go to the Staff Resources site and type: field development into the search box and hit go.
To maximize your time for ministry with kids do these three things: Prayer - team - plan every week.
